Zinedine Zidane has been confirmed as Real Madrid manager as he makes his return to the stomping ground be has excelled as a player and manager.
Zidane’s appointment was confirmed on Monday as head coach at the club, just ten months after the Frenchman quit in the wake of winning Los Blancos’ third Champions League in a row.
Zidane who signed a three-year deal with Los Blancos has been linked with a host of clubs in his time away from management, including the full-time jobs at Chelsea and Manchester United.
Zidane has now revealed that he’s glad to be back at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Zidane was asked about Eden Hazard who has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid, but he failed to give a response and chose to focus on his team.
Asked if there’s a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, Zidane said: “I’m just here enjoying an important day and I’m happy to be back at this club. I’m only thinking about the last 11 games this season.
“We will have plenty of time to chat and make those decisions come the end of the season when we plan for the new campaign.”
Hazard had claimed he has made a decision on his future but won’t reveal it until the end of the season.
“I know what I am going to do,” Hazard told RMC. “I have made a decision.”
Chelsea have already agreed a deal to sign Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund for £57m in the summer, and some believe he is the replacement for Hazard.
