It has been a breakthrough season for Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi and it has even been an incredible week for the youngster.
Fresh off making his England debut in the 5-0 win over Czech Republic at Wembley, becoming the youngest player to make his Three Lions debut in a competitive match at 18 years and 135 days, Hudson-Odoi has now gotten his first ever start in the Three Lions senior team shirt.
Hudson-Odoi has been named in Gareth Southgate’s starting line-up to feature against Montenegro away at Podgorica in tonight’s Group A European 2020 Qualifier.
The Chelsea youngster has been named in a star-studded England squad and a front three that also includes Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane.
Hudson-Odoi impressed in his England debut having come on with 20 minutes left and even forced a save off Czech goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka, only for Tomas Kalas, Chelsea defender on loan at Bristol City, to turn the ball past his keeper for an own goal.
Reacting to his England debut, Hudson-Odoi told Sky Sports: “I couldn’t believe it (when I was told to get ready).
“I didn’t think it was real!
“I was looking around the crowd and everybody looked happy.
“I didn’t know what to do. I want to thank everybody for helping me get here.”
“To get the opportunity to play today is a massive feeling in front of the home crowd as well,” Hudson-Odoi added.
“Hopefully there’s many more to come.”
Hudson-Odoi will be hoping to impress again for the senior team tonight.
