Chelsea travel to Cardiff this weekend, a game we must win to keep our slim hopes of finishing in the top four alive.
The 2-0 loss at Everton before the international break means there is no room for error with eight games left to play.
Michael Owen has backed Chelsea to beat Cardiff 2-0 on Sunday. He doesn’t see Chelsea repeating the same mistakes made against Everton.
“At the start of the weekend only Fulham (6) have lost more away league games in 2019 than Chelsea who have lost four of their five on the road this year,” Owen told BetVictor.
“Maurizio Sarri’s side folded tamely after the break at Goodison Park in their last game, but they had their chances in the first 45 minutes and I don’t see them making any mistakes in south Wales on Sunday.”
Paul Merson also believes Chelsea will be too much for Cardiff and has backed the Blues to win 3-1.
“This could be a big weekend in the race for the top four. I see Chelsea winning, they will have just too much for Cardiff, and that will leave Spurs needing to get a result at Liverpool,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“Some of Cardiff’s home results recently have been alarming and they’ve come against lesser teams than Chelsea.”
