Chelsea must move fast to secure Zinedine Zidane as the club’s next manager or risk losing him to Juventus, according to The Sun.
Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri appears set to leave the Serie A club at the end of the season and Juventus are reportedly eager to see their former player Zidane take over in Turin this summer.
Zidane made 212 appearances for Juventus during a five-year stay in Italy and won two Serie A titles.
Chelsea have reportedly made Zidane the club’s top target to succeed under-fire Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri but could miss out on the French legend unless he is signed now.
Sarri has come under fire from Chelsea fans this season after the club dropped out of the top four but improved performances against Manchester City and Tottenham has eased tensions on the Italian.
Zidane quit Real Madrid last summer after lifting the Champions League for a third straight year and despite Chelsea’s interest in him, Zidane has reportedly told friends Chelsea may not be the right move for him after the issues confronted by Carlo Ancelotti, Antonio Conte and now Sarri.
Juventus manager Allegri wants to leave the club at the end of the season after growing increasingly frustrated by the club’s expectations in Europe.
A source told The Sun: “Max is about to win Serie A for the fifth time but all he hears is that he should be doing better in the Champions League. He feels it might be time for a change.”
