Chelsea right-back Reece James is impressing on loan at Championship side Wigan and reports are now linking him with a move to Premier League side Crystal Palace.
According to The Sun, Crystal Palace has been impressed with his performances while on loan at Wigan and are considering making a £10million move for the 19-year-old this summer.
Reece has established himself as one of English football’s most exciting defenders this season, starring on loan at Wigan Athletic, despite Wigan struggling at the bottom end of the table.
Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been linked with a move away from the London club this summer and Palace want to replace him by signing Chelsea’s Reece James.
However, Chelsea aren’t keen on selling the 19-year-old and won’t listen to Crystal Palace’s offers for the right-back.
A transfer embargo placed on Chelsea for the next two windows might see James stay at Chelsea as cover for Cesar Azpilicueta next season if Davide Zappacosta leaves the club during the summer.
If he doesn’t stay back at Stamford Bridge next season, Chelsea plan to send James on loan to one of Europe’s top clubs to help him hone his trade.
Reece has scored one goal for Wigan this season, curling home a brilliant free-kick against Leeds United in November.
