Eden Hazard has been linked with a move to Real Madrid all season and the reappointment of Zinedine Zidane as Real Madrid boss on Monday has intensified rumours the Belgian captain is set to leave Chelsea for Real Madrid this summer.
Hazard has admitted Zidane is his idol and has also not hidden his desire to play for Real Madrid.
Former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan believes Hazard will stay at Chelsea and reject a move to Real Madrid because Real Madrid are no longer a bigger club than Chelsea.
“The kid sends out mixed messages,” Jordan told talkSPORT.
“You never know whether you’re Arthur or Martha with him. One minute he’s here and the next he’s going.
“So I don’t think it’s necessarily a foregone conclusion that he’ll go to Madrid because I think Chelsea have still got a lot of lure about them.
“Everyone’s house is for sale if someone offers you twice the price for it. In this situation, what benefit is the money if they can’t buy any players?
“I think it’s a sad situation for English football if we lose a prestigious talent like that, because he is a very talented player and I don’t think Real Madrid and Barcelona are bigger clubs than the English clubs anymore.
“I think that’s all part of the past and I don’t see why Madrid should be attracting the players to go over there.
“We should be able to keep them at the Chelseas, Manchester Uniteds and Manchester Citys of the world.”
