It has been a difficult first season for Jorginho in England, as the Italy international has struggled to adapt to the pace and intensity of the Premier League.

The 27-year-old arrived the Premier League with Maurizio Sarri as they both left Napoli for Chelsea at the end of last season.

Jorginho was a key player for Sarri in his Sarri-ball system as Sarri’s team dazzled in the Serie A for three years.

However, both Sarri and Jorginho has come under pressure in England, and the Chelsea boss has been criticised for continuing to stick with Jorginho in the central midfield role.

And now, Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos has pleaded for a bit of patience and insists that Jorginho and Sarri-ball will come good next season at Stamford Bridge.

“The first year in the Premier League is always difficult, we hope the next season can be better,” Joao Santos told CalcioNapoli24.

“We need to raise the level of the game and also Jorginho wants to do it, we just have to wait for the right tactical and technical solution.

“When you’re dealing with a new style of play, you need time to do things the best way possible.

“We only have to wait for the future, because English football is certainly very beautiful.”

It’s been a poor season for Chelsea after a good start to the campaign and the Blues are now in danger of missing out on the Champions League after suffering yet another defeat, this time a 2-0 loss to Everton at the Goodison Park on Sunday.

Sarri however believes that Jorginho’s problem at Chelsea is the movement of his teammates and insists that the 27-year-old playmaker will do well if his teammates move better.

“Jorginho, if the other players don’t move without the ball, is in trouble. He is really very able to play at one touch, but if you want to play one touch you need movements from the other players,” Sarri said after the 1-1 draw with Wolves.

“Then, in the last 20 minutes, Jorginho is not suitable for 4-2-3-1. So it was only a consequence of the change of system, not the performance. I know him very well. He can go in trouble if all the rest of the team are not moving.

“He is a very strong character and a professional player. He has to play in every condition.”
