Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has been a key player for the Blues since arriving as a £32million signing from Leicester City about three years ago. Kante helped Chelsea win the Premier League title in his first season at Chelsea and won the FA Cup last season with the Blues.
Despite so many transfer rumours with strong interest from PSG last year, Kante signed a contract extension in November and is now tied to Chelsea until 2023, and is currently the highest paid player at the club, earning wages of £290,000-per-week.
Real Madrid have been interested in Kante in the past, and their interest had grown strongly in recent weeks, with speculations claiming that current boss Zinedine Zidane is keen on the Chelsea midfielder.
However, Kante, who is on international duty with France, has rejected talks of Zidane’s interest, insisting he is focused on performing for Chelsea.
Asked about his future and a potential move to Real, Kante said: “Today I’m still at Chelsea and I still have aims here.
“What is said elsewhere is not important.
“Even if Zidane calls me, it’s not important, I’m at Chelsea today and I’m focused on that.”
Kante’s team-mate Eden Hazard has also been quizzed on transfer speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid.
Hazard who has been doing well while away with Belgium has responded to reports suggesting he has signed a five-year deal in principle with the La Liga giants following talks with Zidane. The Chelsea star has as well rejected the claims.
Hazard insisted: “There’s nothing in the reports.”
