Chelsea star Eden Hazard has been linked with a move to Real Madrid all season but another Chelsea player has been identified as priority signing by new Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane.
Zidane was appointed as Santiago Solari’s replacement on Monday, less than a year after quitting the club.
The Frenchman has been reportedly given a huge transfer budget of £300million to sign new players in an effort to bolster the Real Madrid squad ahead of the upcoming season and Zidane reportedly wants Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante to be his first signing this summer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira.
“Zinedine #Zidane has signed a contract until 2022 with #RealMadrid,” Schira tweeted.
“He wants as the first purchase N’Golo #Kante from #Chelsea.”
Kante is seen by many as the best defensive midfielder in the world and helped Chelsea win the Premier League under Antonio Conte playing as a defensive midfielder but the France international has been played in an unfamiliar advanced position by Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri this season.
Kante was linked with a move to PSG last summer but signed a new contract early this season. It is highly unlikely Chelsea would let Kante leave the club this summer with Chelsea banned from registering new places in the next two transfer windows.
