Chelsea suffered their fourth defeat in the last eight games as Maurizio Sarri’s side lost to Everton 2-0 away at Goodison Park.

Chelsea missed the opportunity to gain ascendancy in the race for a top four spot after this defeat, and the Blues are now confirmed sixth on the table.

See the ratings of the players

Kepa: Tried his best to save Gylfi Sigurdsson’s penalty but could do nothing about the rebound. Had nothing to do in the first-half, and should have done better for the first goal. 5/10

Azpilicueta: Poor display as he couldn’t come up with some overlapping runs to support the team’s attack. 3/10

Rudiger: Strong and imposing first-half performance, but went to sleep in the second-half as Chelsea’s defending became poor. 4/10

Luiz: Did well in the first half with some nice over the top passes to the forward players. He switched off in the second half as Richarlison was unmarked to nod home for the opening goal of the game. 4/10

Alonso: Got a start following his awesome performance on Thursday, but he was really awful today and gave away a needless penalty that killed all Chelsea’s hope of a comeback. 2/10

Jorginho: Struggled in the second-half and couldn’t dominate the midfield as Everton ran riot. 4/10

Kante: The game really went by him in the second-half as he struggled to make an impact. 4/10

Barkley: Returned to his old ground and didn’t receive much love from fans of his former club. Okay display in the first-half but got missing in the second-half. 5/10

Pedro: Had one or two good moments, but didn’t really impact the game much. 5/10

Hazard: Started the game brilliantly as he hit the bar and tested Jordan Pickford. But afterwards, he struggled in vain. 6/10

Higuain: Very anonymous display, but tested Pickford with one good shot in the second-half. 4/10

Loftus-cheek: Made Chelsea livelier after coming on, but it just seemed pretty late when he was introduced. 6/10

Giroud: Couldn’t get on the ball as there was no service to him. 4/10

Hudson-Odoi: Had a bit of an impact with his direct play, but nothing much. 5/10

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
