Eden Hazard has been linked with a move to Real Madrid all season and according to reports, the Spanish club have approached Chelsea about a summer move for the Belgian captain.
According to The Telegraph, Real Madrid made contact with Chelsea about Hazard shortly before they announced Zinedine Zidane as their new head coach on Monday.
Hazard is a huge admirer of Zidane and named the French legend as his idol growing up. With Zidane returning as Real Madrid boss, Hazard is now expected to tell Chelsea to sanction a move.
Chelsea value Hazard at £100million and have offered the Belgian a huge deal worth upwards of £300,000 a week to stay at Stamford Bridge but the Belgian has been reluctant to extend his contract.
Hazard wanted to join Real Madrid last summer after the World Cup but a move was blocked by the Blues. With one year just left on his contract, the Belgian is now expected to leave at the end of the season.
Losing Hazard to Real Madrid this summer will hit Chelsea hard as the Blues will be unable to sign a replacement after FIFA placed a transfer ban on the club.
Hazard isn’t the only Chelsea player wanted by Zidane. According to reports, Zidane is eager to sign Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante.
