Eden Hazard and Callum Hudson-Odoi were among the best performers on the night as Chelsea scored three past Brighton on Wednesday at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea youngster Husdon-Odoi got his first Premier League start against the Seagulls, and the 18-year-old even played the entire game as Chelsea took all three points in the fight for a top four finish.
Hudson-Odoi has now played 20 games for Chelsea this term in what has been a breakthrough season for the academy product. The youngster has already made his England debut and is attracting massive interests from Bayern Munich who have already made up to three formal bids for the 18-year-old.
Hudson-Odoi has reportedly been offered massive wages to remain at Stamford Bridge with his contract set to run out in 2020, and for an 18-year-old he has already achieved so much.
Chelsea star Eden Hazard who also rose to fame quickly as a footballer understands the hype around Hudson-Odoi. As a teenager, Hazard was already dominating the French league before moving to Chelsea in 2012 for a massive fee at age 21, having won the French Ligue One’s best player awards for two consecutive seasons.
Hazard has advised Hudson-Odoi to remain humble and not let the current frenzy around him get to him. Hazard also advised the youngster to keep working hard and not listen to what people are saying.
“I told him if he stays humble at first, for me it is the best thing, to stay humble,” said Hazard. “Work in training, score goals, and then be happy on the pitch. He can go very far.
“I was not listening to everything [people said about me]. Then I think my family also helped me to stay humble.
“In football that can happen very quickly, you can be at the top in two months, and then in two months, everyone can forget about you. But I think if you keep your feet on the floor and train…
“I think for him it is easy because the players he has around him are quite humble, so if we were all thinking we are the best, for him, it could be hard to stay humble. But he is intelligent and has a family that cares for him.”
