Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek started his third consecutive league game as Chelsea lost 2-0 at Anfield on Sunday.
The 23-year-old midfielder assessed Chelsea’s performance against Liverpool.
“We can go away not too disappointed,” Loftus-Cheek said.
“We had some good spells in the game and played some good football at times. They scored two very good goals and we didn’t take our chances. That’s the way football ends up at times.
“We knew they were going to come out fast. It was a really difficult game to play in defensively with their creative players.
“We did well in patches. We worked hard, and if Eden tucks one away it’s a different game. We were a bit unlucky in terms of the quality of their second goal, but we could have been better as a team defensively in some parts of the game.”
Loftus-Cheek also revealed Chelsea must move on quickly from the loss at Liverpool and focus on the busy last few weeks of the season, starting with home games against Slavia Prague in the Europa League and Burnley in the Premier League.
Loftus-Cheek added: “When you lose you have to move on quickly because there are games coming thick and fast. That’s a trait as a footballer you have to be good at. You have to put stuff behind you and move on, and that’s what we have to do after this performance.
“It’s not a good result for us but all we can do is put it behind us and learn from it. We keep going and going, and try and get points on the board. We can’t give up hope.”
