Chelsea visit Anfield later today to face Liverpool in a must win game for both teams.
Liverpool need all three points to stay ahead Manchester City in the title race while Chelsea must beat Liverpool at Anfield to ensure we secure a top four finish this season.
Chelsea killed Liverpool’s title hopes five years ago with a 2-0 win at Anfield and Jose Mourinho was in charge of the Blues on that day.
Goals from Demba Ba and Willian, along with Steven Gerrard’s infamous slip, were enough to cap off a historical Premier League day for both sides.
Ahead of this weekend’s clash at Anfield, Mourinho has called the Liverpool vs Chelsea game the biggest game of the weekend.
Mourinho refused to predict the outcome of the game as both teams desperately need three points on Sunday.
“Liverpool-Chelsea in the Premier League is a big one, for many reasons,” Mourinho told Russia Today.
“Liverpool, they have to win every match between now and the end of the season, and wait for Man City to lose a couple of points.
“It’s a must-win for Liverpool. At the same time Chelsea need points to finish top four.
“Manchester United is there, Spurs is there, Arsenal, despite their last defeat, are also there.
“Chelsea needs points. It’s a must-win for both. And to add something more to the game, the last time Liverpool were almost winning the title it was Chelsea who spoiled the celebration at Anfield.
“I’m pretty sure people have that in mind. For me that’s the big game of the weekend.”
