It was a game of two halves as Chelsea started the game brightly and were comfortable leaders at the break having ended the first half 4-1. However, the game turned around in the second-half as the Blues lost momentum as Slavia Prague took control and scored twice within three minutes to ensure a nervy ending to the game.

At the end, Chelsea won the game 5-3 on aggregate and are now through to the semifinal.

Kepa: Made some good saves in the first-half but was well beaten by two stunning shots in the second-half. 5/10

Azpilicueta: Looked pretty comfortable in the first-half, but had a difficult second-half. Nice touch in the buildup to the first goal. 6/10

Luiz: Looked shaky in the defence and almost cost his team with a handball late in the game. 4/10

Christensen: His partnership with Luiz didn’t seem solid at all in the second-half as Sparta Prague looked dangerous in the second-half from every attack. 4/10

Emerson: Was vulnerable in the second-half as Sparta attacked Chelsea from all sides. Had a bright first 45 minutes and was involved in the buildup to Chelsea’s fourth goal. 5/10

Kovacic: Was sleek on the ball in the first-half and had a good half but totally collapsed in the second-half and left the defence totally open. 5/10

Barkley: Good movements in the first-half and combined well with the forward players. Went missing in the second-half. 6/10

Kante: Had a good first-half but was all over the place in the second period and gave away the ball too many times. Played a fine ball for Giroud in the buildup to Chelsea’s third goal. 6/10

Hazard: Beautiful first-half display including a lovely assist for Pedro. Was fouled too often in the first-half. Seemed to have tired out in the second-half as Sarri took him off too early. 7/10

Pedro: Had a beautiful game especially in the first-half. Scored two goals and created another as Chelsea went on rampage in the first-half. Went missing in the second-half. 8.5/10

Giroud: Got a goal and an assist and had a good first-half. Was isolated in the second half as Slavia took control of the game. 8/10

Willian: Came on for Hazard and used his work rate to seal the left flank for Chelsea as Emerson was continually left exposed. 6/10

Jorginho: Was brought on to bring calm to the midfield, but not sure it worked out fine. 5/10

Hudson-Odoi: Came on late in the game for Pedro. 5/10

Manager rating: Sarri named a good line-up to beat Sparta Prague and kudos to him, his side started with a bang. The Prague side took over the game in the second-half and he couldn’t react tactically to take back control of the game. 5/10
