Eden Hazard got a 10/10 in our player ratings and deservedly so as Chelsea defeated West Ham 2-0.
Hazard was the difference in the game as the Belgian scored a goal in both halves, and his first goal was a brilliant solo effort where he waded his way through a tight West Ham defence to beat Lukasz Fabianski with a simple finish.
Although Chelsea were dominant against the Hammers, the Blues couldn’t get a goal and had to depend on the brilliance of Hazard who has shown once again that he’s the best player in the Premier League.
To score the first goal, Hazard picked up the ball midway in West Ham’s half, and superbly went past four players like they weren’t there before evading a last-ditch sliding challenge to fire low past Lukasz Fabianski.
Speaking about his goal, Hazard explained how he went past the West Ham defence to score the first goal for Chelsea.
The Belgian told the media at the end of the game: “I think we played well. The game was not so easy because West Ham is a great team.
“They created problems but in the end we did everything. We scored two great goals.
“The first goal? It is something special. I take the ball and when I can go forward I try to go forward. When I am in the box it is hard for a defender to challenge me because if they touch me it might be a penalty.
“I think I am a bit lucky when I shot, but it is a good goal. When I saw the ball in the net I was happy. I am small, so for me it is good. When I play against big guys it is very hard for them to change direction.”
Hazard seems to be enjoying his best scoring season for Chelsea this term as he has now scored 16 league goals and three goals in the League Cup for the Blues this term.
