A report on Spanish newspaper Marca claims Real Madrid will complete the £86million signing of Eden Hazard from Chelsea within a matter of days.
The report claims the agreement between Chelsea, Real Madrid and Hazard will be made official in the coming days.
Real Madrid have already agreed deals for Eder Militao and Rodrygo and Real boss Zinedine Zidane is hoping to make Hazard his third signing as he continues his overhaul of the Real Madrid squad.
According to Marca, Chelsea demanded a fee of £170million-plus for Hazard but the Blues are now reportedly happy to accept £86million for Hazard due to the excellent relationship between both clubs following the loan signing of Mateo Kovacic.
Hazard having just one year left on his contract has also forced Chelsea to accept the £86million fee for the Belgian.
It is being claimed Hazard has rejected up to three contract renewal offers from Chelsea with the Belgian keen on joining Real Madrid this summer.
Marca also claims Zidane first suggested that Real sign Hazard when he was a youngster at French club Lille, with club president Florentino Perez saying he would be brought to the Bernabeu when he reaches an elite level.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have appealed against the transfer ban imposed on the club by FIFA, asking for it to be postponed until after the next transfer window, which would enable the club to have room to make signings this summer.
Slavia Prague Boss Jindrich Trpisovsky has hailed Eden Hazard as the best player in the world currently. The Slavia boss made the remarks before Chelsea’s Europa League clash with his team at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night.
“I think that Hazard’s on the same level as (Lionel) Messi and (Cristiano) Ronaldo; he’s in the same category if you ask me,” said Trpisovsky.
“I think currently he’s the best player in the world. Not many people can play at his level. I really like watching him.”
