Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi has made just one Premier League start this season with Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri preferring Willian and Pedro to the 18-year-old.
Hudson-Odoi will have 12 months left on his contract in the summer and he has stalled on signing a new deal with the youngster worried about the amount of game time he will receive at the club.
Chelsea rejected four bids from Bayern Munich in January for the youngster and the demand for his signature will be fierce this summer after he made his England debut during the recent international break.
According to former Chelsea star Eidur Gudjohnsen, Hudson-Odoi makes Chelsea a better team and deserves more chances to show his quality
“As a young player coming through, you have to take your chances and use the opportunities well,” Gudjohnsen told talkSPORT.
“Every time he’s been given a chance, he’s shown that he’s got the qualities.
“You do feel that with Hudson-Odoi on the pitch, Chelsea look like a better team.
“He’s got time but he’s shown that he’s ready and we would love to see a talent like that on the pitch even more.”
Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud also believes Hudson-Odoi deserves to play regularly for Chelsea.
Giroud said: “I’m not surprised (about Hudson-Odoi), he’s improving and he’s got huge potential.
“I’m sure he will become a top top player. He needs to play in more games.
“He’s a good player and a good man in the dressing room.
“England can be happy to have him.”
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has now revealed why Hudson-Odoi has not gotten more starts in the Premier League.
According to Sarri, Willian, Hudson-Odoi and Eden Hazard all enjoy playing from the right.
“The best of Callum is on the left, the best of Hazard is on the left, the best of Willian is on the left, but I have only one left! I am sorry,” Sarri said.
“Two of the three can play of course, but one has to adapt himself to the other side, as Callum did in this match for 80 minutes.”
