Spanish champions Barcelona are reportedly keen on selling Philippe Coutinho this summer and are expecting a bid from Chelsea for the Brazilian this summer, according to Goal.
Coutinho joined Barcelona from Liverpool in January 2018 for a fee understood to be £146m, according to Sky Sports.
The Brazilian has failed to live up to expectations at Barcelona and fans of Barcelona want him out of their club this summer.
With Eden Hazard set to leave Chelsea for Real Madrid this summer, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich wants Coutinho to replace Hazard at Stamford Bridge.
Coutinho reportedly wants to remain at Barcelona despite a disappointing first full season at the club but according to Goal, some members of the Blaugrana’s board of directors are keen to sell this summer and are waiting for a bid from Chelsea.
Coutinho has struggled to win over Barcelona fans and the relationship between Coutinho and Barca fans has suffered in recent weeks after his celebration after scoring against Manchester United in the Champions League.
A report by L’Equipe today claimed Chelsea have agreed a deal with Real Madrid for the transfer of Hazard with the French media outlet claiming the transfer will be announced after Chelsea’s Europa League final against Arsenal on May 29.
Chelsea are currently unable to register new players following a transfer ban imposed on the club by FIFA but Chelsea have appealed the decision at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
The Blues are hoping to get a positive ruling from CAS to enable the club sign a replacement for Hazard this summer.
