Premier League rivals Manchester City are so desperate to have legends and have now resorted to stealing legends from other Premier League clubs.
Manchester City Twitter handle described Chelsea legend Frank Lampard as a Manchester City legend on Friday, even though Lampard spent just a few months at the Etihad Stadium.
Lampard spent his final season in English football at the Etihad Stadium and he scored a goal in his last appearance for the club. City remembered his last goal for the club by describing Lampard as a Manchester City legend.
Lampard made his name at Stamford Bridge. He spent 13 years at Chelsea winning lots of trophies including three Premier League titles and a Champions League.
Lampard is also Chelsea’s highest goalscorer with 211 goals in 648 appearances.
Meanwhile, reports claim Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich will sack Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri and replace the Italian with Chelsea legend Frank Lampard. It is believed the board have been impressed with Lampard’s performances as Derby boss.
