Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko has landed himself in hot water with AC Milan after appearing late in training.

The 24-year-old joined the Italian club last summer on a season long deal with an option to buy, after struggling in his first season at Chelsea.

The Frenchman struggled to adapt to the Italian league initially and there were talks of Milan terminating his contract and sending him back to Chelsea in January, but he picked form and established himself as a key player in Gennaro Gattuso’s team.

Bakayoko has now landed himself in hot water with Gattuso and AC Milan Bakayoko after arriving an hour late for training on Monday and cited ‘problems with the car’ as the reason. Gattuso was not happy with his lateness and also the club hierarchy, and Bakayoko’s contract is being rumoured that it will be cut short.

Reports claim Milan will reportedly fine Bakayoko €90,000, and finishing in the top four has been claimed to be a requirement for Milan to exercise their buy-option on the Chelsea loanee.

Milan have an option to sign Bakayoko permanently for £30million from Chelsea but the France international had revealed that he is unsure of his next move when his loan deal expires at the end of the season.

“When I think of my future, it is a total blur,” Bakayoko told France Football. “I cannot empty my head.

“I’m doing everything to qualify for the Champions League. It’s been five years since the Milan fans have heard the Champions League anthem and I want to be there the next time it sounds in San Siro.

“I’m having a good season, I’m very grateful to Milan. I’m very happy here, although at first, I was criticised. But it’s normal, they expected more, there is no problem.”
