Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri does not appear confident of keeping Chelsea’s Player of the Season Eden Hazard at the club next season.
The Belgian continues to be linked with a summer move to Real Madrid and Sarri has admitted there is little he can do to convince Eden Hazard to stay at Chelsea next season.
Hazard scored Chelsea’s winning penalty in the Europa League semi-final win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday in what many believe will be his last appearance at Stamford Bridge.
Sarri said: “If Hazard is thinking that the history here is finished, then in his mind it is finished. I can try to speak to him but it is not easy.
“It’s not easy because of course I want Hazard, but I want Hazard with a very high level of motivation.”
Sarri added: “It’s a discussion between a father and a son. I can only speak to the player but like a father, not like a manager. I am not in control of the market.”
Hazard was voted Chelsea’s Player of the Year after scoring 19 goals and providing 16 assists in all competitions for the Blues.
He was also named Players’ Player of the Year by his Chelsea teammates while his goal against Liverpool was named the Goal of the Season.
