While Chelsea had good intentions for the friendly game against MLS side New England Revolution, Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has seen his plans frustrated for the Europa League final as key man Ruben Loftus-Cheek suffered an injury in the charity game billed to raise the profile of the club’s Say No To Antisemitism campaign and combat all forms of discrimination in the game.

Chelsea suffered a major blow as Ruben Loftus-Cheek hobbled off with an ankle injury during the game. The 23-year-old twisted his ankle in the lumpy pitch at the Gillette Stadium, going off in the second half.

Loftus-Cheek who has been a key player for Chelsea in recent games left the field on crutches and is now a doubt for the Europa League final against Arsenal on May 29.

Loftus-Cheek has been an important player for Chelsea in recent games and will sorely be missed if he isn’t back in time for the game against Arsenal.

Chelsea fans were enraged after Ruben Loftus-Cheek suffered a potentially season-ending injury against New England Revolution.

Some fans feared for the worst after Loftus-Cheeksinjury, and many blamed the Chelsea board and Maurizio Sarri for fielding him in this game.

“Loftus Cheek tore his Achilles. He’ll be back in like 7-8 months. F**k you Chelsea board and your stupid friendly games,” one fan raged on Twitter.

“Loftus-Cheek tore his Achilles, probably. Thanks to you idiots at Chelsea board,” another wrote.

“So… Loftus-Cheek definitely just tore his Achilles as well,” one fan fumed.

“Wait Sarri played first teamers in a meaningless friendly, and now Loftus Cheek is injured,” one fan tweeted.

“And what should happen, just happened, Ruben Loftus-Cheek looks injured. F**k off Chelsea and Sarri for your stupid friendly games,” another posted.

One fan raged: “And we just lost RLC for the Europa League final f**k you Sarri.”

“He doesn’t give a flying f**k about this club, and you’re deciding yourself if you think it will all magically change next season. A FRIENDLY. Not one youth player gets a full debut. #SarriOut,” another posted.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
