According to Daily Mail, Chelsea face dilemma over Callum Hudson-Odoi with the Blues weighing up whether to cash in on teenager as he enters final year of his contract.
Hudson-Odoi’s current Chelsea contract expires next summer and the teenager is yet to commit to a new contract.
With FIFA rejecting Chelsea’s appeal against the transfer ban imposed on the club, Chelsea could lose Eden Hazard and Hudson-Odoi this summer without being able to replace both players.
Hudson-Odoi handed in a transfer request in January amid sustained interest from Bayern Munich and the German club remain highly interested in a summer move for the winger. Manchester United and Barcelona are also said to be interested in Hudson-Odoi and are both monitoring his situation at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea offered Hudson-Odoi a contract in January which the 18-year-old rejected and there have been no talks between both parties since January.
It is believed Hudson-Odoi has stalled on signing a new contract due to concerns about playing time at Chelsea. He has received more playing time under Maurizio Sarri in the second-half of the campaign but his season has been curtailed by an achilles injury.
While Chelsea are worried Hudson-Odoi could leave the club for Bayern Munich this summer, the Blues are confident of extending the contract of midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek, another academy graduate.
His current deal expires in the summer of 2021 and Chelsea have started discussing a contract extension with the 23-year-old.
Loftus-Cheek insists he’s happy at Chelsea and sees no reason why he should leave the club.
Loftus-Cheek said: “I let my agent deal with it. I’m not thinking about that right now. I’m playing right now. It’s looking good, so there’s no reason why I should think about leaving Chelsea.”
Asked if he is in line for a wage hike, he smiled: “If I get a pay rise, that’ll be great.”
