Chelsea signed Christian Pulisic in a £58million deal from Borussia Dortmund in January but loaned him back to the Bundesliga side for the remainder of the season.
The American international has joined up with his new Chelsea teammates after playing his last game for Borussia Dortmund.
Pulisic scored seven goals and provided six assists in 30 games for Dortmund during the 2018/19 campaign.
Pulisic posed with the Chelsea shirt at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday but his squad number wasn’t revealed.
Pulisic’s squad number at Dortmund was no.22 and that is currently being worn by Willian.
While the no.22 is currently unavailable, there are a host of numbers available to the American international.
The no.4 shirt is available after it was vacated by Cesc Fabregas following his January move to Monaco but it’s unlikely Pulisic will opt for the no.4 shirt as forward players rarely choose that number.
Nos 14, 15, 16, 19 and 23 are all currently available with Tiemoue Bakayoko, Victor Moses, Kenedy, Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi all currently out on loan.
No.25 worn by Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola and no.26 worn by Chelsea legend John Terry are also available.
Alvaro Morata’s No 29 is also available after the striker’s 18-month loan deal to Atletico Madrid.
Pulisic could also wait to see which player would leave the club this summer before picking a squad number.
Eden Hazard (No 10) and Danny Drinkwater (No 6) could leave the club this summer. Mateo Kovacic (No 17) and Gonzalo Higuain (No 9) are on loan at Chelsea and could leave if the club fail to make the loan deals permanent or in Higuain’s case, trigger the loan deal for another season.
