Mateo Kovacic is set to become a permanent Chelsea player this summer and this signing could leave some Chelsea players in the dark over their future.
One player whose future could be affected by the permanent signing of Kovacic is Tiemoue Bakayoko.
Bakayoko struggled in his first season at Stamford Bridge and left the club on loan to AC Milan last season, where he impressed after a rocky start.
With AC Milan failing to sign Bakayoko permanently, the French midfielder is set to return to Chelsea and fight for his place in the team.
Just hours after the news that Chelsea have signed Kovacic on a permanent deal from Real Madrid, Bakayoko took Instagram to show himself working out and getting ready for the new season.
Bakayoko captioned it with ‘Ready’ and then three emojis, with two of them being clocks to show that he is counting down for the new campaign.
Bakayoko will compete with Jorginho, N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Ross Barkley Danny Drinkwater, Mason Mount and Ruben Loftus-Cheek for a place in Chelsea’s midfield next season.
