Tiemoue Bakayoko spent last season on loan at Italian side AC Milan and he will return to Chelsea after AC Milan pulled the plug on a permanent deal for the French midfielder despite Bakayoko initially keen to stay at the San Siro.
Chelsea had hoped AC Milan will sign the midfielder permanently after the 24 year old struggled at Stamford Bridge following his arriving from Monaco for a fee of £40million.
Bakayoko scored three times in 43 appearances for Chelsea and scored just once in 42 appearances on loan at AC Milan.
Bakayoko’s agent has revealed the midfielder is determined to fight for starting spot at Chelsea after a successful loan spell with AC Milan.
Bakayoko impressed while on loan at AC Milan but the Serie A club won’t sign the midfielder after failing to qualify for the Champions League.
“There are some pretty interesting, quite big clubs that have inquired, but we give priority to Chelsea,” Abdoulaye Bakayoko, his brother and agent, told L’Equipe.
“We already know, there is the Champions League and we are looking for stability. Tiemoue has decided to stay there.”
Bakayoko has three years left on his Chelsea contract and he could just turn out to be the player we all expected him to be for Chelsea next season.
