Atalanta have reached an agreement with Chelsea to keep Mario Pasalic on loan for another season, according to Italian publication Calciomercato.
Pasalic joined Atalanta on loan last summer and the deal included a €15m buy-out clause but the Serie A side decided not to activate the clause, most likely because of the price tag.
Pasalic helped Atalanta finish third in the Serie A last season, and thus securing Champions League qualification.
Atalanta are keen on replicating the success of last season as well as doing well in the Champions League and are keen on keeping their squad as well as adding reinforcements.
Prior to the agreement between Chelsea and Atalanta to extend the loan deal of Pasalic, the Croatian had made it clear that he wanted to stay in Italy.
Pasalic scored eight goals and provided six assists in his 42 competitive appearances for Atalanta and he is under contract at Chelsea until the summer of 2021.
