According to The Telegraph, Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi is on the verge of signing a new five-year deal, with the finer details being ironed out ahead of an announcement.
The 18-year-old had appeared certain to leave Chelsea in January after he submitted a transfer request in an attempt to force through a move to Bayern Munich but the arrival of Frank Lampard as Chelsea boss has convinced him to commit his future to Chelsea.
Chelsea rejected four offers from Bayern Munich for the 18 year old in January and according to Daily Mirror, the Blues also rejected an offer from Bayern Munich for Hudson-Odoi this summer.
The Blues are keen to secure the future of the 18-year-old as he enters the final 12 months of his present deal.
Hudson-Odoi is reportedly confident of securing a regular first-team place under Lampard while he also has a good relationship with former Chelsea youth team manager Jody Morris, who will be Lampard’s No.2 man at Stamford Bridge.
Hudson-Odoi will miss the start of the new season as he recovers from a ruptured Achilles tendon, although he could be in line for a return in September.
Hudson-Odoi made 22 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea last season, scoring five goals, as well featuring twice for England.
