Chelsea Academy star Jay Dasilva has completed a permanent transfer to Bristol City. Dasilva spent last season on loan with Bristol City, and after impressing for the Championship side, they decided to sign him up.
Dasilva previous loan spell was at Charlton Athletic and was part of the England Under-21 team eliminated from the European Championships in the past week.
The 21-year-old joined Chelsea in 2012 at age 13 alongside his younger brothers Cole and Rio. Dasilva was part of the Chelsea Under-13 when he joined Chelsea and won the UEFA Youth League twice and the FA Youth Cup three times with the Blues, scoring in the 2014 final.
He played 32 games playing for Bristol City in the Championship in 2018/19 season and they have exercised an option to make the move permanent.
Bristol City chairman Mark Ashton said of the deal: “We saw first-hand last season just how talented Jay is and he quickly earned the respect of the City supporters.
“His talents are clear for all to see and I am delighted we have been able to make Jay a permanent figure at this football club.
“He has all the attributes we’ve been looking for and he will continue to flourish in the set-up and style of football which Lee Johnson and his staff have implemented.”
Chelsea FC wrote on the club’s official website: “We thank Jay for his service for Chelsea and wish him well at Bristol City.”
