Spanish side Atletico Madrid are reportedly interested in Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso but reports in Spain are claiming they have now pulled out of the race for the Spanish left-back.
According to Spanish outlet Cadena Cope via Daily Express, Atletico Madrid are no longer interested in Alonso after Chelsea slapped a £36million (€40million) price tag on the Spanish left-back.
Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone was interested in signing Alonso as replacement for outgoing left-back – and former Chelsea player – Filipe Luis.
The report claims Alonso is open to leaving Chelsea this summer after becoming slightly disillusioned with life at Stamford Bridge last season after Maurizio Sarri left him out of a number of matches.
Sarri also opted to start Emerson Palmieri in the Europa League final instead of Alonso.
Despite being open to leaving Chelsea this summer, it is believed Alonso will not try to force a move, seeing as Sarri has now left the club and could feature more under the next manager.
Alonso joined Chelsea from Fiorentina in 2016 for £24million, and has made 95 appearances for the Blues since his arrival. The 28 year old has also scored 15 goals in a Chelsea shirt.
