Chelsea legend and assistant manager Gianfranco Zola will Chelsea this summer when his contract as assistant coach expires, according to Sky Sports.
The 52-year-old, who played for Chelsea between 1996 and 2003, returned to the club last summer on a one-year deal to work alongside Maurizio Sarri.
Chelsea offered Zola an ambassadorial role but he reportedly turned it down as he wants to continue working as a coach.
Maurizio Sarri has now been appointed as Juventus manager and some reports claim Zola could join Sarri at Juventus.
However, Sky Sports claim Zola is keen to stay and look for opportunities in English football.
With Chelsea now confirming Sarri’s exit, Chelsea legend Frank Lampard is favourite to be appointed as Chelsea boss.
It is believed he has agreed to become Chelsea’s new boss after Roman Abramovich promised to give him two years to prove his worth.
Lampard could be confirmed as Chelsea boss this week and would likely want to bring Jody Morris in as his assistant manager.
Morris, who works with Lampard at Derby, also played for Chelsea during the exact period Zola was at the club between 1996 and 2003.
