Gonzalo Higuain joined Chelsea on a 6-month loan deal in January from Juventus. The Argentine cut short his loan spell with AC Milan to move to the Blues.
Higuain scored 5 goals in 14 Premier League appearances, and his loan spell at Stamford Bridge is now ended.
Higuain didn’t really meet the physicality of the English game and struggled for most part of his loan move to Chelsea. He has now returned to the Bianconeri and intends to play two more seasons at the Allianz Stadium, with Juve being the only club he’d consider playing for in Italy, his representative claims.
According to Higuain’s brother and agent Nicolas Higuain, Higuain is determined to see out his contract at Juventus.
“Gonzalo wants to respect his contract and therefore stay with Juventus for another two years.
“His performances at Juve have been good and playing for another team in Italy isn’t a workable solution.
“I don’t want to disrespect anyone, but if Gonzalo plays in Italy again then he only will for Juve, who own him,” Nicolas Higuain said according to Goal.
One player who didn’t like the arrival of Higuain is Olivier Giroud.
Giroud has revealed that he didn’t like Sarri’s decision to play Higuain ahead of him and even had to ask the manager for some explanations.
“When I didn’t understand his choices, I went to see him, he gave me explanations,” Giroud told RMC.
“What was annoying was he preferred to recruit Higuain. My playing time did not improve and it was not easy.”
