Jorginho followed Maurizio Sarri from Napoli to Chelsea last summer as Sarri saw the midfielder as key to implementing his style of play at Chelsea.
Jorginho started brilliantly at Chelsea but his form dropped badly as opponents targeted the midfielder and limited his influence on the pitch.
According to ESPN senior football writer Mark Ogden, it’s difficult to see a future for Jorginho at Chelsea after Sarri left for Juventus this summer.
“Jorginho was signed by Sarri to make his system work but with the Italian no longer in charge, it’s difficult to see a future for the midfielder at Chelsea,” said Ogden.
With Chelsea unable to sign players this summer, Ogden believes the Blues should limit the number of players that leave this summer.
“With no ability to add to their squad, Chelsea simply have to keep what they have and decide whether any of their many loaned players are capable to returning to Stamford Bridge to perform at the highest level,” Ogden added.
Meanwhile, Jorginho has thrown the door open to joining Sarri at Juventus.
Jorginho’s agent, Joao Santos, told Tuttomercatoweb: “Chelsea have a four-year contract with the lad.
“We’ll wait a few days to figure out whether there is any truth in this interest mentioned in the papers.
“He found a great atmosphere and we can’t really say that he’d like to go elsewhere, but anything can happen in the transfer market. We’ll wait and see.”
