Just days after leaving Chelsea for Juventus, Maurizio Sarri is eyeing up some of his former players at Stamford Bridge.
After a year as Chelsea manager, Sarri has left Stamford Bridge to return to Serie A and has signed a three-year contract with Juventus.
Reports claim Sarri is keen on signing two Chelsea players – Jorginho and Emerson Palmieri. Sarri brought Jorginho from Napoli last summer, while Emerson joined the club from Serie A side Roma in January 2018.
However, Emerson has now debunked stories of a move to Juve, insisting that he is happy at Chelsea and has made no contact with another club.
When asked about his future, Emerson said: “I’m happy at Chelsea, we won the Europa League and I am calm.
“I didn’t receive any call, I am happy here. There is nothing to say, I am focused on Chelsea.”
Sarri’s departure to Juventus has opened the door for club legend Frank Lampard to return to Stamford Bridge, and the 40-year-old wouldn’t want to lose any of his key players so soon, especially with Chelsea facing a transfer ban.
Lampard was picked as the person to replace Sarri after an impressive first year in management in which he guided Derby to the playoffs before losing to Aston Villa in the final.
According to The Sun, Lampard is set for talks with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich in France this week over the vacant Chelsea manager’s job.
