Chelsea star Eden Hazard is leaving the club having established himself as one of the greatest players in the west London club’s history over the past seven years.
Hazard will leave Stamford Bridge as a fan favourite and will forever have a special place in the hearts of Chelsea fans. He played 352 games for the club, the 23rd highest total in our history, and scored 110 goals, the ninth most.
Hazard has been a big player for Chelsea and has achieved a lot in his 7 years at Stamford Bridge. In some games over the years, Hazard has singlehandedly carried the team on his back and dragged Chelsea to victories.
Chelsea and Real Madrid agreed a £88m fee for Hazard, but the Blues could receive up to £130million for Hazard should he meet a number of performance related targets.
Willian and Hazard formed a good relationship both on and off the pitch, and the Brazilian has sent a farewell message to Hazard.
Willian wrote on Instagram: “Eden, my brother, it was an honor to play with you in those 6 years! I hope you have success in your new challenge!”
Former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has also congratulated Hazard after Real Madrid confirmed the signing of the Belgium international winger on Friday.
Fabregas spent nearly five years at Stamford Bridge with Hazard after he left Chelsea in January for French side Monaco. Fabregas has also sent a farewell message to Hazard.
“Great moments on and off the pitch. It’s been a pleasure sharing all the good moments and specially the not so good ones that we overcame together over the last 5 years with the reward of winning it all. Enjoy your new challenge amigo!” Fabregas wrote on Twitter.
