Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma has spent the last two seasons away from the club on loan.

The France international spent the previous season on loan to Stoke City but he was unable to save the Potters from going down.

With competition still stiff at Chelsea, Zouma joined Everton on a one-year loan deal last season and had a brilliant campaign at the Goodison Park.

Zouma is wanted by Marco Silva after performing well for the Toffees last season, but he’s unaware of Chelsea’s plans for him as the Blues are yet to sign a new manager.

Back in April, Zouma revealed that he was yet to hear from Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri and hasn’t discussed with the manager about his future.

When asked about his future, Zouma said: “I don’t know yet. We have five more games to play and then we will see.

“I am very happy [here]. My aim was to come and play and improve myself and I think I have done that here. I hope we will finish the season very high.

“The manager brought some very good players in last summer and now everyone understands each other.

“We are confident, are playing forward more and are playing better and we believe but the season hasn’t finished yet so we have to go again next week and get a win.

“We are more confident. We hold the ball a bit better, we are more compact as a team as we defend together and attack together. We have the crowd behind, which helps us a lot, so we just need to keep on going like this.”

According to Starsport, Zouma has told friends he’d love to return to Chelsea. With Gary Cahill departing from the club, Chelsea would need one more defender, and the Blues can’t sign a new defender this summer. David Luiz, Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger are currently the three defenders in the club’s books, but Rudiger is currently out injured and won’t be available for the start of the new season.
