Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has reportedly agreed to let Maurizio Sarri leave for Juventus this summer according to Daily Mirror.
It is believed Chelsea legend Frank Lampard will be announced as Chelsea’s next manager when Sarri leaves.
Juventus are keen to appoint Sarri as their next manager following the departure of Max Allegri and Sarri’s representatives met with Chelsea executives on Friday in London.
Despite leading Chelsea to a third place finish in the Premier League and also Europa League success, Chelsea fans have never really warmed up to the Italian.
According to reports in Italy, Chelsea will demand £5million from Juventus to let Sarri leave, a fee which Juventus are reportedly ready to pay.
Chelsea chiefs believe Lampard is the right candidate for the Chelsea job if Sarri leaves after Lampard championed young talent in his first year at Derby.
Chelsea chiefs also believe appointing the Chelsea legend as Chelsea’s next boss would also be a popular choice among the fans.
Meanwhile, Italian media outlet Tuttosport claim Sarri will try to take two players with him to Juventus. According to the report, Emerson Palmieri and Gonzalo Higuain are the two players he’d want to take to Juventus.
Sarri signed Jorginho last summer from his former club Napoli, but he won’t be able to take the midfielder to Juventus, as the 27-year-old signed a long-term deal with Chelsea.
Chelsea defender David Luiz believes Sarri should remain as Chelsea boss.
Asked whether the club should keep Sarri, Luiz replied: “Yes. He’s doing great. He did great during the season even with all the difficulties we had.
“It’s his first season at Chelsea, his first in English football. He is a great person, a great guy, a great manager and we finished in the best way for him because we finished winning a trophy in his way.
“Even after we conceded a goal at 3-1 we continued to play his philosophy and continued to try to score more goals. It was the best end of the season for him and he deserved that.
“It is for the club to decide, but I am so happy with him. Sometimes we are with the guys we work with more than our families. We make some connections. I think Maurizio did that with us. He has some connections with us, that’s why he loves this group.”
