Chelsea are in talks with Brazilian international Willian over signing a new contract after the club rejected bids from Atletico Madrid and Barcelona for the Brazilian.
With Eden Hazard leaving Chelsea for Real Madrid this summer, Chelsea are reluctant to let Willian leave Stamford Bridge and are hoping to extend the contract of the Brazilian winger.
According to Standard Sport, Willian, who has just 12 months left on his current deal, wants a two-year extension, which is what David Luiz was given last month.
The Sun had reported earlier this month that Willian was close to signing a new deal but Standard Sport claim Chelsea are unwilling to meet Willian’s contract demands.
Chelsea are reportedly only prepared to offer Willian another year on top of what he has left on his agreement at this stage.
The Blues offered David Luiz a two year deal because his contract was up this and the club will be unable to sign a replacement this summer due to the transfer ban imposed on the club.
With Chelsea facing a two-window transfer ban, Chelsea are under pressure to offer fresh terms and a compromise should be reached.
Willian is currently with the Brazilian national team in the Copa America.
