Chelsea legend Frank Lampard is set to be named as Maurizio Sarri’s replacement at Stamford Bridge after the Italian left for Juventus weeks after guiding Chelsea to the Europa League title.
Chelsea star Willian, who is currently with Brazil in the Copa America, has revealed he would welcome Frank Lampard back to Stamford Bridge with open arms.
Willian, who played with Lampard in the 2013/14 season, believes Lampard has what it takes to succeed as Chelsea boss.
“He is a legend,” Willian told football.london . “He was an extraordinary player for the club, winning every possible title.
“He deserves so much respect and backing for what he has already achieved at the club. If Chelsea do bring him in, he will be very welcome.”
“Is he definitely going to be the next manager? I don’t know,” Willian continued. “But I think he would be up to the task.
“He was a great player, and he is a great person. He’s only starting his managerial career now, but he has everything it takes to be a success.”
When asked about Sarri, Willian said: “I wish him all the best. May God bless his career and his new chapter at Juventus.”
