Chelsea boss Frank Lampard used the game against Bohemians to give opportunities to the youngsters that have been with the team for preseason.
Seven teenagers featured for 45 minutes against Bohemians but these four below impressed the most:
1. Conor Gallagher
The Academy Player of the Year played just behind Michy Batshuayi and impressed in his role. His workrate was impressive as he looked to press high just as Lampard demands and his passing was brilliant as he linked up with those around him. His runs into the box were also impressive too.
2. Ethan Ampadu
Lampard used him in the midfield role next to Danny Drinkwater and the youngster impressed. He looked very composed with the ball and his workrate was impressive too. Many Chelsea fans are used to seeing him play in defence but the youngster is also a brilliant midfielder.
3. Marc Guehi
The young centre-back was given 45 minutes to show his worth and he impressed playing next to Cesar Azpilicueta in defence. His positioning as a defender was impressive and he covered Kenedy brilliantly, as the Brazilian, playing as left-back, pushed high the left flank.
4. Billy Gilmour
Every fan has been talking about the 18-year-old after his impressive performance. He was Chelsea’s best player in the second half and almost scored a brilliant goal. He played just behind the striker and was always looking to get on the ball. His passes were brilliant too and he is one player I will love to watch again in the Chelsea shirt.
