Chelsea boss Frank Lampard gave the youngsters in the training camp a chance to prove themselves in the 1-1 draw against Bohemians on Wednesday night in Dublin.
The youngsters got 45 minutes each against Bohemians as Lampard played a different XI in each half.
Following the game against Bohemians, Lampard has now decided to send 8 players back to London, reducing the number of players in our preseason training camp to 27.
According to Carefree Youth, Marc Guehi, Trevoh Chalobah, Dujon Sterling, Conor Gallagher, Lewis Baker, Lucas Piazon, Izzy Brown and Ike Ugbo have all returned home and won’t be involved in our remaining preseason games.
Carefree Youth also claim Ian Maatsen and Billy Gilmour will stay with the squad till the weekend then return after the match. It is believed Willian’s injury with Brazil has opened up a spot for Kasey Palmer in the squad and he will travel with the team to Japan.
