Last season under Maurizio Sarri, Chelsea were very terrible during set-pieces. We struggled to score from set-pieces and also struggled to defend set-pieces. We just had issues with aerial balls.
Chelsea conceded 15 goals from set pieces last season, the worst in the league alongside Cardiff.
New Chelsea boss Frank Lampard will know our issues with set-pieces last season and I believe its one area he will want the team to improve.
Knowing how to attack or defend set-pieces is important in football. In very tight games, set-pieces can be very important.
Bringing back Kurt Zouma, who impressed during his loan spell at Everton last season, could help solve our problems with aerial balls.
Towering at 6’3, Zouma has an intimidating height and has a very good jump.
He’s currently with the team in the training camp in Ireland and Lampard would have been impressed with the 24 year old defender.
Check out this picture of Zouma in our training camp at Ireland, highlighting how good Zouma’s jump is:
Should Zouma stay at Chelsea next season?
