Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta has challenged senior Chelsea players to set a good example to the youngsters at Chelsea.
With the transfer ban imposed on the club by FIFA, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard will promote several youngsters into the first team.
The players are currently in Dublin, Ireland, for a preseason training camp as the Blues prepare for the new season under Lampard.
The likes of Trevoh Chalobah, Conor Gallagher, Marc Guehi, Fikayo Tomori, Izzy Brown, Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount made the trip to Ireland.
Speaking to Chelsea’s official website, the 29-year-old Chelsea captain said: “We have a lot of good youngsters here at Chelsea, many of them have come away with us on this trip and it’s a good chance for them to come in and impress.
“I’m a senior member of the team and it’s down to people like myself to lead by example, to set the standards for the young players to follow and you have to show this on the pitch with the way you play, but also with how you conduct yourself off it too.”
