Eden Hazard has been the star of Chelsea team for many seasons but Chelsea will have to face next season without the superstar.
Hazard spent seven years at Chelsea, and the Belgian was a terror to opposition defence before leaving for Real Madrid during the summer.
Hazard sealed a £88m move to the Los Blancos, a deal that could rise up to £150m, and many believe Chelsea will collapse without Lampard next season.
Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley has urged that the Chelsea players put in their best next season, and he believes Chelsea have enough quality to replace Hazard.
Barkley told Goal’s Nizaar Kinsella:
“You have to fill in. Everyone in the squad understands that he [Hazard] was a great player, but he is gone. He has new challenges now and we have to replace his goals and create the chances. We have that much quality in the squad we will all step up to the plate.
“Last season when Eden wasn’t playing we still won games, we still created chances. We know he is an exceptional player, but we have exceptional players in the squad. We have young ones that will step up and produce the goods as well.”
Chelsea have been on fire in pre-season, and the Blues have won three of their five pre-season games, winning their last two which included a 2-1 win over Barcelona.
There have been so much competition in the Chelsea squad with everyone trying to impress the new boss, and Barkley has revealed that every Chelsea player came back for pre-season with hunger.
He added: “We have all come back from pre-season hungry.”
