German champions Bayern Munich have been interested in signing Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi and made several attempts to sign the youngster in January but Chelsea rejected all offers for the 18 year old.
Reports in Germany suggested that Bayern were preparing to make a fresh £45m bid for the teenager this summer – a £10m increase on their highest bid last January after failing in their attempt to sign Manchester City winger Leroy Sane.
According to The Independent, Bayern Munich have given up on signing Hudson-Odoi and are now actively pursuing alternative transfer targets.
The report claims the German champions gave up on pursuing Hudson-Odoi due to Chelsea’s resolute stance on the 18 year old.
Bayern Munich believe Hudson-Odoi will eventually commit to a new long-term deal at Chelsea, worth around £100,000-per-week and have now given up on signing the 18 year old.
Hudson-Odoi has entered the last year of his current contract with the Blues and after reassuring discussions with Chelsea boss Frank Lampard, the Blues are confident an agreement will be reached with the teenager.
“Callum came through the Academy and can be a big player for us and England,” Lampard said recently.
“He knows he has a boss here who wants to work with him to improve.
“There are a few younger players now. Some have signed, some will sign in the next month or so.”
