Chelsea boss Frank Lampard insists he wants Callum Hudson-Odoi to stay amid interest from German club Bayern Munich.
Hudson-Odoi has just one year left on his Chelsea contract and Lampard has promised to persuade the youngster into signing a contract extension at Chelsea.
Lampard said: “I’ll speak to him. I have seen Callum come through the Academy. I think he is a fantastic talent. I want him to stay. I know the club want him to stay.
“For me, at the age he is, and the fact that he has at a top Premier League team, a top team in the world, he is going to be central for us on the pitch.
“That’s the opportunity that is in front of him now, from where I am sitting. So that’s what I will speak to him about.”
Lampard added: “When I say that he’s going to be central to it, there are things that as a young player he will want to improve and by natural development will improve.
“So I am not going say things that are pie in the sky. I am not going to say: ‘This is all going your way’.
“But knowing his talent, he can be central to this team – and he can be central to England.
“I want to work with him, to drive him forward. I want to improve him as a player and he can show right here at Chelsea that he’s going to be an absolute world-class player.
“I truly believe that.”
