Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic (nicknamed captain America) was very impressive in Chelsea’s 5-3 victory over Austrian side RB Salzburg.
Chelsea raced into a 3-0 lead in Austria, with Christian Pulisic netting twice and Ross Barkley also on target from the penalty spot. The Blues scored the three goals within eight minutes as Chelsea ended the first half 3-0.
Pulisic who signed for Chelsea in the January transfer window scored his first goal in a Chelsea shirt as he opened the scoring in the game against Salzburg. Pulisic latched on to a through ball from midfield and showed composure to score the opening goal 20 minutes into the match.
Shortly after his goal, Pulisic won a penalty for Chelsea which was duly converted by Ross Barkley. It didn’t take long as Pulisic and Barkley combined again for the third goal. Barkley played a lovely ball over the top for Pulisic, who ran onto the ball and did a good finish to make it 3-0 just before the half hour mark.
A lot has been said about Pulisic and whether he can replace Eden Hazard, but the 20-year-old was in his element tonight and had a good game for the Blues. Chelsea fans were in awe of his performance.
