Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid faced each other at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, USA, in pre-season preparations ahead of the new season and both were at almost full strength for the International Champions Cup game.

Interestingly, Diego Simeone’s side were too good for Zinedine Zidane’s squad as Atletico won the game 7-3.

Former Chelsea star Eden Hazard, started the game for Los Blancos, but he couldn’t do anything to save his side as Atletico ended the first half on rampage, 5-0 up already. Three Real Madrid goals in the second-half wasn’t enough as the damage had already been done, with Atletico likewise scoring twice in the second period.

Hazard left Chelsea during the summer for a dream move to Real Madrid for an £88m fee, which could rise up to £150m.

Hazard’s start to life with the Los Blancos hasn’t been smooth so far and he played just over an hour in New Jersey and left the field with the score at 6-1. He provided an assist for Nacho to head in before leaving the pitch.

Chelsea fans are offering a way of escape to Hazard, telling him to return to Chelsea.

“Never too soon to come back by the way,” said a sympathetic Chelsea fan.

And another wrote: “Eden you don’t deserve this, just come back.”

A Chelsea fan lamented: “Hows that dream move to Real Madrid going Eden?”

“Well, this is a nightmare Eden, get out now while you still have your dignity,” another Chelsea fan urged.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
