Everything is all set for Chelsea to confirm Frank Lampard as the new Blues manager after the club seems to have settled with Derby County and also reach an agreement with Lampard.

Everything seemed to have been concluded about the deal, but Chelsea are yet to announce the deal as reports claim Chelsea will make the announcement on Thursday.

Derby have seemingly revealed on their website that Lampard had indeed left them for Chelsea, and have quickly moved to delete the post after it appears that Chelsea are yet to make their announcement.

This isn’t the first time this is happening as the Blues also mistakenly confirmed the signing of Mateo Kovacic and even released the interview with the Croatian and deleted it before making the release the following day.

Derby owner Mel Morris expects Frank Lampard to be appointed the new manager of Chelsea this week and he also revealed Lampard’s post-season holiday ddelayed talks.

Asked if Lampard’s move to Stamford Bridge is merely matter of time, Morris told talkSPORT: “I’m assuming so.

“Obviously it’s a matter between Chelsea and Frank at this stage, but they’ve now got the opportunity to finalise matters.

“As we’ve said before, when Frank and I first met we discussed this very eventuality, the only difference is the timing of this.

“My belief at this point in time is that Frank and Chelsea need to have the time to finalise the transaction between them.

“You could say they’ve had plenty of time, but in fairness Frank was away on vacation – and a well-deserved one after a pretty tough season – and he didn’t come back until Friday, so I think that has been a big factor.”
